Marke Freeman

Marke Freeman is an outstanding teacher of leadership and skill development who empowers executives, entrepreneurs, students and athletes worldwide to welcome challenges as opportunities, becoming the “captains of their ship”.

Born into a single parent home and raised in an impoverished community on the eastside of Springfield Illinois, Marke has faced many forms of adversity making them the acme of her testimony. Her story is one of commitment, accountability, perseverance, education & service which she refers to as CAPES because this approach saved her life.

Her story is proof that success is about combating victimization and seeking ownership. Living ones best life through self-reflection and correction. It’s about starving ones distractions and feedings ones focus to ensure growth and success. It’s about seeking greatness and performing at the highest level, to ensure that we win as a community.

This stalwart attitude served Marke well throughout her career. She graduated at the top of her high school class receiving a full academic/athletic scholarship to attend and play basketball at Northern Illinois University. She had an exceptional career at NIU leading her team to regional and national rankings. At NIU she earned her Bachelor Degree in Communications – Media
Studies. Later she extended her education at University of Missouri-Kansas City earning her Master’s Degree in Education – Curriculum and Instruction.

After graduating from NIU, Marke continued to defy the odds given an opportunity to travel the world to play professional basketball in Europe. She stood out against the best players in the world, positioning her amongst the league’s best. Despite being the smallest player on the court her entire life, she earned All-League honors, leading her teams to the playoffs.

Marke is now entering her fifth year serving as a Core Director for Point Guard College, a wellknown leadership and skill basketball education program where she serves athletes and coaches of the high school, college and professional levels globally. Leading content creation, skills training, team development and curriculum delivery for the most sought out basketball
program in the country.

Now in her fourth year of college coaching, Marke serves as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Washington University – Saint Louis. A program that has won 5 National Championships, made 10 NCAA Final Four appearances, and 23 Conference Championships but even better known as one of the top academic institutions in the country. Marke has again tied
her passion for sports, impact and leadership into her mission to build champions on and off the basketball court.

In 2013 Marke founded the Max-OUT Foundation of which she is the active President. Max-OUT is a non-profit organization with a mission to “Maximize Opportunity, Unity and Training” in communities by teaching youth life skills, leadership training and influencing positive life choices. Max-OUT has impacted the lives of thousands of youth and professionals throughout
the United States and abroad, traveling to five continents, over a dozen countries and countless states. Marke has equipped thousands through dynamic and thought provoking teaching and empowerment of world-class leaders and citizens.

As a speaker, director, coach, teacher, and mentor, Marke Freeman works with business entities and individuals around the world, instilling within them not only the mental foundations of success and the motivation to achieve, but also the actionable strategies that will empower them to grow, improve, and thrive.
